Meet the Executive Board

Our team is composed of dedicated students currently enrolled in fields ranging from engineering to environmental policy. Our members have previous project experience through rigorous academics and extracurricular activities, including connections to climate advocacy groups and climate research on campus. Here are the people that make up our executive board.

President

Shane Clough

Hi, I’m Shane Clough, President, and Co-founder of the Carbon Capture Club. I’m a third-year Civil Engineering major who enjoys hiking, cooking, board games, and watching movies with my friends. We founded CCC because we firmly believe that if there is anywhere we have a chance to start making a big impact, it’s here at The Ohio State University. Go Buckeyes!

Project Manager

Jeremy Selby

Hi, I’m Jeremy Selby, Project Manager and Co-founder of Carbon Capture Club. I’m a 3rd-year Aerospace Engineering student who enjoys board games, reading comics, and going to the RPAC with friends. The reason I’m with CCC is that I believe our generation represents humanity’s last chance to fight against Climate Change and protect the Earth from dire consequences.

Executive Secratary

Josh Townsend

Hi, I’m Josh Townsend, Executive Secretary and Co-Founder of Carbon Capture Club. I am a 3rd-year mechanical engineering major with a minor in computer information science. I am interested in renewable energies and electric cars. I want to save the planet in any way possible and our goal is to do that here on campus. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, and watching OSU football. Go Bucks!!!

Media Manager

Caroline Cohen

Hi, I’m Caroline Cohen, Media Manager and Co-founder of the Carbon Capture Club. I’m a third-year Industrial and Systems Engineering currently on a Co-Op with Mine Safety Appliances. I enjoy hockey, cooking, and exploring Columbus with my friends. I am a proud member of CCC as I feel that the initiatives and ideas generated within this club could make a huge impact on environmental safety.

Mariah Barboza

Hi! I’m Mariah Barboza and I am the Chief Environmental Engineer. I am a fourth year majoring in environmental engineering. I am also involved in undergraduate research on campus and enjoy participating in service projects in the Columbus community. I love reading, binge watching movies, and exploring new places! So excited for the impact we as Carbon Capture Club will make!!

Lauren Wagner

My name is Lauren Wagner and I am the Teasurer. I am a third year Environmental Engineering major and I am also minoring in Science, Engineering, and Public Interest (SEPI). I'm a born and raised Columbus native and will always be a 'Buckeye for life'. It is my goal in life to do whatever I can to combat climate change.
